Important: Please read these Terms & Conditions carefully. They govern access to and use of MentorOn1, including its website, accounts, Tutor discovery features, compatibility matching, inquiries, appointments, dashboards, reviews, communications, invoices and engagement records, AI-enabled features, and any related services made available by MentorOn1.
These Terms are designed to explain both what MentorOn1 does and what it does not do. MentorOn1 primarily facilitates discovery, matching, communication, scheduling, and record-keeping between Tutors, Students, Parents/Guardians, and other users. Except where MentorOn1 expressly states otherwise for a specific service, MentorOn1 is not the provider of the underlying tutoring service, does not employ Tutors, and does not guarantee any Tutor, match, educational result, personal conduct, payment, or offline interaction.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or waives any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable Indian law, including applicable consumer-protection law.

MentorOn1 may provide, among other things:
- public Tutor discovery;
- Tutor profiles;
- search, filters, sorting, and recommendations;
- subject, grade, location, language, teaching-mode, fee, experience, rating, category, and other discovery tools;
- a structured compatibility-matching system;
- Student and Parent inquiry flows;
- Tutor-specific inquiries;
- human-assisted advising;
- appointment or conversation scheduling;
- Student, Parent, and Tutor dashboards;
- Tutor onboarding and profile-management functions;
- Tutor verification and publication workflows;
- reviews, ratings, testimonials, results, and impact content;
- newsletters and service communications;
- engagement records, Orders, billing records, and invoices;
- administrative support;
- an AI-enabled MentorOn1 Assistant; and
- other related functionality introduced from time to time.
MentorOn1's core function is to help users discover, evaluate, contact, and coordinate with Tutors. Unless a specific written offer expressly says otherwise, the underlying tutoring arrangement is between the Tutor and the Student and/or the Student's Parent or Guardian.
2. Legal Operator and Contracting Structure
For purposes of these Terms, the service is presented under the name MentorOn1.
MentorOn1 is currently operated as an unregistered individual/sole operation by Siddhartha Gorai, Bankura, West Bengal, India.
References in these Terms to:
- “MentorOn1”;
- “we”;
- “us”; or
- “our”
mean the MentorOn1 service and, where legally relevant, its current operator.
The use of a brand name, platform name, logo, website, software system, invoice format, support identity, or domain does not by itself create a separate company, partnership, employer, agency, franchise, or legal entity.
MentorOn1 may later reorganise, register a proprietorship, partnership, LLP, company, or other legal entity. If that happens, MentorOn1 may assign these Terms and relevant platform contracts to the successor operator in accordance with Section 88.
3. Acceptance of These Terms
You agree to these Terms when you do any of the following:
- create an account;
- accept a Terms checkbox;
- verify an account where acceptance is part of signup;
- use a logged-in MentorOn1 feature after being presented with these Terms;
- submit a Tutor profile;
- submit a Match questionnaire;
- send an Inquiry;
- schedule an Appointment;
- submit a Review;
- use the MentorOn1 Assistant;
- use an Order or Invoice feature;
- or otherwise use MentorOn1 after having reasonable notice of these Terms.
If you do not agree, you must not use MentorOn1 in a manner requiring acceptance.
Where a user is a minor and cannot legally enter into a binding contract independently, the relevant Parent or lawful Guardian must provide the legally required authorisation and assumes responsibility as described below.
4. Definitions
For these Terms:
“Account” means a registered MentorOn1 user account.
“Adult” means a person who has attained legal majority under applicable law. For a person domiciled in India, this is generally 18 years of age.
“Appointment” means a scheduled or requested conversation, consultation, coordination call, or similar event arranged through MentorOn1. An Appointment is not necessarily a tutoring lesson.
“Child” or “Minor” means a person below 18 years of age unless applicable law requires a different treatment for a particular purpose.
“Compatibility Match” or “Match” means a MentorOn1 recommendation generated using the platform's structured matching system and/or related human-assisted processes.
“Content” includes text, photos, profile information, qualifications, reviews, ratings, files, messages, questionnaire responses, descriptions, testimonials, feedback, and other material submitted to or displayed through MentorOn1.
“Engagement” means the platform-recorded relationship or proposed relationship between a Tutor and a Student/Parent after introduction, selection, inquiry, appointment, or other platform workflow.
“Guardian” includes a lawful guardian and, where the context permits, a parent who has authority to act for a minor.
“Invoice” means a MentorOn1-generated record of an Engagement, agreed amount, billing period, or other transaction information. Unless MentorOn1 expressly states that it is the payee, an Invoice does not prove that MentorOn1 collected money.
“Order” means a platform record created for an Engagement, service arrangement, or related billing/administrative purpose. An Order does not necessarily mean an e-commerce purchase from MentorOn1.
“Parent Account” means an Account designated as Parent and used to act for one or more authorised Students/Wards.
“Platform” means MentorOn1's website, software, dashboards, APIs, administrative systems, and related services.
“Published Tutor” means a Tutor profile that MentorOn1 has approved for public visibility.
“Review” includes a rating, written review, testimonial, result statement, or other evaluative content.
“Student” means a person seeking or receiving tutoring or education-related support through a Tutor found or coordinated through MentorOn1.
“Tutor” means an independent person listed, applying to be listed, or otherwise participating on MentorOn1 as a provider of tutoring services.
“Tutor Fee” means the amount charged or quoted by a Tutor for tutoring. It is distinct from any current or future MentorOn1 platform/service fee.
“User” means any visitor, Student, Parent, Guardian, Tutor, or other person using MentorOn1.
“Ward” means a Student linked to a Parent/Guardian relationship on MentorOn1.
5. Scope and Geographic Availability
MentorOn1 currently operates primarily in Bankura District, West Bengal, India.
The website may technically be accessible from outside Bankura District or outside India. Such technical accessibility does not mean that:
- MentorOn1 offers active local matching in every location;
- MentorOn1 guarantees Tutor availability outside Bankura;
- MentorOn1 is licensed, registered, or operationally established in every jurisdiction from which the site can be viewed; or
- MentorOn1 accepts responsibility for use that is not supported in a user's location.
MentorOn1 may expand, reduce, pause, or otherwise change its geographic coverage.
If a Tutor or Student voluntarily conducts online tutoring across a wider geographic area, the parties remain responsible for ensuring that their arrangement complies with applicable law.
6. Eligibility and Contractual Capacity
To create or use an Account, you must:
- meet the applicable minimum-age rule;
- provide truthful information;
- have authority to use the email address and other information provided;
- not be prohibited from using the service;
- comply with these Terms; and
- where a binding obligation is created, have legal capacity to enter into that obligation or act through an authorised Adult/Guardian.
A person who is not legally competent to contract cannot become independently bound merely because the Platform technically permits account access.
MentorOn1 may require additional Parent/Guardian involvement whenever legal capacity, safety, payment, consent, or a minor's interests are involved.
7. Rules for Children and Minor Students
7.1 Minimum age for a Student Account
A Student must generally be at least 10 years old to create or directly operate a Student Account.
A child under 10 must use MentorOn1 through a Parent or lawful Guardian.
7.2 Students aged 10 to 17
A Student aged 10–17 may use a Student Account only subject to:
- Parent/Guardian knowledge and authorisation;
- applicable legal requirements for consent;
- appropriate Adult involvement where a binding obligation or payment arrangement is created;
- safety rules for communications and in-person meetings; and
- MentorOn1's right to require Parent/Guardian confirmation at any time.
7.3 Minor is not treated as the contracting adult
A minor Student is not represented by MentorOn1 as having full independent contractual capacity.
Where a tutoring arrangement, payment obligation, cancellation fee, release, indemnity, dispute-resolution commitment, or other legally binding obligation requires Adult capacity, the Parent/Guardian who authorises the activity is the responsible contracting party to the extent permitted by law.
7.4 Parent consent and verification
MentorOn1 may require:
- a Parent Account;
- Parent email verification;
- a Parent/Guardian declaration;
- linkage between Parent and Ward;
- consent confirmation;
- or other reasonable verification.
MentorOn1 may restrict or suspend a minor's Account if required consent cannot be verified.
7.5 No concealment of age
Users must not falsify date of birth or age to bypass child-safety or consent requirements.
8. Rules for Minor Tutors
MentorOn1 may, in special circumstances, consider Tutors below 18.
A minor Tutor:
- has no automatic right to be listed;
- may be subjected to enhanced review;
- may require Parent/Guardian consent;
- may be restricted from certain tutoring arrangements;
- may be limited to specific modes, locations, ages, or supervision conditions; and
- may be removed or paused if MentorOn1 considers the arrangement unsuitable.
Where a minor Tutor lacks independent contractual capacity, any legally binding arrangement must be structured through an Adult/Guardian or other lawful mechanism.
Acceptance of a minor Tutor is an operational decision, not a certification of legal capacity, safeguarding suitability, or professional status.
9. Parent and Guardian Responsibilities
A Parent or Guardian using MentorOn1 represents that:
- they have authority to act for the relevant Ward;
- information provided about the Ward is accurate to the best of their knowledge;
- they will supervise decisions involving the Ward where appropriate;
- they will not impersonate another Parent or Student;
- they will not create an unauthorised Ward relationship;
- they will review Tutor suitability themselves;
- they will take reasonable precautions for online and offline tutoring;
- they are responsible for approving financial arrangements for a minor; and
- they will promptly notify MentorOn1 if their authority changes.
A Parent may not access, modify, or obtain information about a Student who is not legitimately linked to them.
MentorOn1 may request evidence of authority in a disputed or sensitive case.
10. Account Registration and Account Information
When creating an Account, you must provide information requested by MentorOn1 accurately and completely.
You must not:
- create an Account for another person without authority;
- use a false identity;
- create misleading qualifications;
- use another person's email without permission;
- create duplicate Accounts to evade restrictions;
- misstate your age;
- impersonate a Tutor, Student, Parent, school, organisation, or MentorOn1 representative; or
- conceal prior suspension or removal.
MentorOn1 may merge, restrict, deactivate, or investigate duplicate or suspicious Accounts.
11. Email Verification, OTPs, Passwords, and Session Security
MentorOn1 may use:
- email/password authentication;
- email OTP verification;
- login OTP verification;
- password reset OTPs;
- session cookies;
- refresh-session rotation;
- device/session records; and
- related security controls.
You are responsible for:
- keeping your password confidential;
- securing your email account;
- not sharing OTPs;
- logging out from shared devices;
- promptly reporting suspected unauthorised access; and
- not attempting to defeat security controls.
MentorOn1 will never be responsible for losses caused solely by a user's voluntary disclosure of credentials or OTPs, except to the extent such liability cannot lawfully be excluded.
MentorOn1 may revoke sessions, force re-authentication, or temporarily lock an Account where security risk is suspected.
12. User Roles and Role Restrictions
MentorOn1 supports role-specific functionality.
Current role rules include:
- Student and Parent are mutually exclusive primary roles on the same Account;
- Tutor and Parent may coexist where supported;
- Tutor and Student coexistence may be restricted unless MentorOn1 expressly permits it;
- Admin status is not obtained through normal public-user role selection.
Users must not manipulate requests, hidden fields, APIs, cookies, or URLs to obtain unauthorised roles or permissions.
A Tutor cannot self-approve or self-publish.
A User cannot self-verify an email, review state, Order state, Invoice state, or other administrative status except through an authorised Platform workflow.
13. Accuracy of User Information
You must keep material Account and profile information reasonably current.
MentorOn1 may rely on information submitted by users unless it has reason to question it.
MentorOn1 may correct:
- formatting;
- spelling;
- obvious typographical errors;
- standardised subject names;
- taxonomy labels;
- public-profile presentation; and
- other non-substantive display issues.
MentorOn1 may ask a user to substantiate a claim at any time.
Failure to provide requested substantiation may result in:
- removal of a badge;
- removal of a claim;
- profile pausing;
- restriction;
- or termination.
14. Tutor Onboarding and Profile Submission
A Tutor may be asked to submit information including:
- legal or preferred name;
- photo;
- headline;
- biography;
- subjects;
- grades/classes;
- locations;
- teaching modes;
- languages;
- qualifications;
- categories;
- experience;
- fee information;
- availability;
- education;
- skills;
- questionnaire responses;
- identity or credential material;
- verification information;
- and other onboarding details.
Submission does not create a right to publication.
MentorOn1 may:
- request changes;
- reject incomplete information;
- require clarification;
- standardise a profile;
- limit claims;
- remove unsupported marketing language;
- or reject the Tutor.
15. Tutor Publication, Approval, Pausing, and Removal
Tutor publication is controlled by MentorOn1.
A Tutor profile may move through states such as:
- Draft;
- Submitted;
- Under Review;
- Needs Changes;
- Approved;
- Published;
- Paused;
- Rejected;
- Archived; or
- equivalent states introduced later.
A Tutor cannot publish their own profile merely by completing required fields.
MentorOn1 may pause, unpublish, reject, or archive a Tutor where it reasonably considers this necessary because of:
- incomplete information;
- outdated information;
- inability to verify information;
- complaint history;
- safety concern;
- suspected fraud;
- misrepresentation;
- low responsiveness;
- non-compliance;
- unauthorised conduct;
- legal risk;
- platform quality standards;
- change in geographic coverage;
- inactivity;
- or other legitimate operational reason.
Publication is a revocable Platform privilege, not a permanent entitlement.
16. Tutor Verification and What “Verified” Means
A “Verified” label, badge, status, checkmark, or similar indicator may reflect one or more checks performed by MentorOn1.
The exact checks may vary between Tutors and over time.
Verification may involve, depending on the case:
- identity information;
- submitted academic information;
- professional information;
- experience claims;
- references;
- Account verification;
- manual review;
- or other checks.
Verification is not a guarantee.
A Verified Tutor is not guaranteed to be:
- competent;
- qualified for every Student;
- safe in every circumstance;
- truthful in every statement;
- professionally licensed;
- free from past misconduct;
- continuously suitable;
- available;
- reliable;
- effective;
- or capable of producing any particular academic outcome.
MentorOn1 may verify some claims but not others.
Verification documents are generally private and are not made publicly downloadable merely because a verification badge appears.
Users must make their own Tutor-selection decisions.
17. Tutor Representations and Continuing Duties
Each Tutor represents, to the best of their knowledge, that:
- information submitted is true and not materially misleading;
- qualifications claimed are genuinely held;
- experience claimed is not fabricated;
- fee information is presented honestly;
- availability is not knowingly false;
- they have lawful authority to provide the tutoring they offer;
- they will treat Students appropriately;
- they will not discriminate unlawfully;
- they will comply with safeguarding requirements;
- they will not use MentorOn1 to exploit minors;
- they will not solicit unlawful payments;
- they will not impersonate another Tutor;
- they will not misuse Student or Parent data;
- and they will promptly correct material inaccuracies.
Tutors must notify MentorOn1 if a material qualification, identity, legal, safety, availability, or disciplinary fact changes in a way that makes the profile misleading.
18. Public Tutor Profiles and Discovery
Public Tutor profiles may display selected information approved by MentorOn1.
Private information, including private contact details, private questionnaire answers, internal notes, verification documents, security information, and other non-public data, is not intended to appear merely because a Tutor has a public profile.
MentorOn1 may decide which profile fields are public.
A public profile is informational and does not constitute:
- an employment offer;
- a professional certification;
- a guarantee;
- a legally binding Tutor offer;
- a warranty of availability;
- or an endorsement of all Tutor statements.
19. Search, Filters, Rankings, and Recommendations
MentorOn1 may rank or filter Tutors using information such as:
- search relevance;
- subject;
- grade;
- location;
- mode;
- fee;
- language;
- rating;
- experience;
- profile completeness;
- publication status;
- availability;
- recency;
- compatibility data;
- platform quality signals;
- or other factors.
Search ranking is not an objective declaration that one Tutor is universally “better” than another.
MentorOn1 may change ranking logic without individually notifying users where the change does not materially alter contractual rights.
Paid promotion, if introduced later, will be identified where required by law and will not automatically be represented as organic matching quality.
20. MentorOn1 Compatibility Matching
MentorOn1 may provide a structured compatibility-matching system.
The system may:
- collect Student preferences and circumstances;
- use a versioned set of matching dimensions;
- compare answers against Tutor responses;
- apply eligibility filters;
- compute compatibility scores;
- rank eligible Tutors;
- display a best result and alternatives;
- preserve Match history; and
- support human advising or follow-up.
The matching system currently uses a structured multi-dimensional questionnaire and may include 21 dimensions or another clearly identified current version.
MentorOn1 may update questions, weights, compatibility mappings, formulas, or version logic.
Historical Match results may remain associated with the version used when the Match was generated.
21. Limits of Compatibility Scores and Match Results
A Match is a compatibility assessment and recommendation tool, not a scientific, medical, psychological, diagnostic, admissions, or educational guarantee.
A compatibility score:
- does not prove educational effectiveness;
- does not predict marks with certainty;
- does not guarantee personality compatibility;
- does not guarantee punctuality or conduct;
- does not override Parent judgment;
- does not replace a conversation with the Tutor;
- and does not guarantee that the Tutor will accept the Student.
The user makes the final Tutor selection.
MentorOn1 may show strongest alignment dimensions, percentages, bands, or explanatory labels. These are outputs of the Platform's matching method, not professionally validated psychological measurements unless MentorOn1 explicitly states otherwise.
22. Match History and Re-Matching
MentorOn1 may store Match runs and results for dashboard history, service continuity, quality improvement, dispute resolution, security, and related purposes in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
A Tutor appearing in an older Match may later become:
- unavailable;
- unpublished;
- paused;
- removed;
- or no longer eligible.
An old Match does not create a right to contact or book that Tutor indefinitely.
Users may be required to run a new Match after:
- a questionnaire version changes;
- a subject or grade changes;
- the relevant Match becomes stale;
- or the prior Tutors are no longer available.
23. Inquiries, Advising, and Lead Forms
MentorOn1 may provide:
- Student Inquiry forms;
- Parent Inquiry forms;
- Tutor Inquiry forms;
- advising requests;
- “Help me find the right Tutor” requests;
- Contact forms;
- Tutor-specific Inquiry forms;
- and other forms.
Submission of an Inquiry:
- does not guarantee a response;
- does not guarantee a Tutor;
- does not create a tutoring contract;
- does not guarantee a quoted fee;
- and does not require MentorOn1 to accept the request.
MentorOn1 may link an Inquiry to an Account, Tutor, Ward, Match, Appointment, or source context.
MentorOn1 may reject spam, duplicates, abusive submissions, or requests outside the current service area.
24. Appointments and Conversation Scheduling
MentorOn1 may allow users to request or schedule conversations associated with Tutor selection.
An Appointment may be:
- requested;
- confirmed;
- rescheduled;
- declined;
- completed;
- cancelled;
- marked no-show;
- or otherwise updated.
Unless explicitly identified as a tutoring lesson, an Appointment is generally a coordination or introductory conversation.
A requested time is not confirmed merely because it was selected.
Where Tutor availability is not authoritative, MentorOn1 may treat a selected time as a request requiring confirmation.
25. Cancellation, Rescheduling, and No-Shows
Where no paid MentorOn1 appointment or cancellation fee applies, cancellation or no-show consequences may be limited to:
- rescheduling;
- internal records;
- reduced scheduling priority;
- warnings;
- or other reasonable non-monetary measures.
If MentorOn1 later introduces paid appointments or cancellation fees, the specific applicable:
- cancellation window;
- no-show rule;
- charge;
- refund rule; and
- exceptions
must be disclosed at or before the relevant booking.
A monetary cancellation term does not apply retroactively merely because these Terms permit future paid features.
A Tutor and Student may separately agree on cancellation rules for tutoring lessons. Such rules are between them unless MentorOn1 expressly administers the relevant payment/service.
26. Contact Sharing and Communication Between Users
MentorOn1 may facilitate contact exchange in different ways depending on the workflow.
Contact information may be shared:
- after an approved Inquiry;
- after a Match;
- after an Appointment;
- after staff finalisation;
- through a controlled communication workflow;
- through direct exchange between users;
- or by another method shown at the relevant time.
Users must not assume that a Tutor's private contact information will automatically be disclosed.
MentorOn1 may withhold or delay contact exchange where it reasonably considers this appropriate for:
- safety;
- fraud prevention;
- consent;
- quality control;
- verification;
- unresolved complaints;
- or platform integrity.
After contact information has lawfully been shared, MentorOn1 cannot control every subsequent off-platform communication.
27. Formation of the Tutor–Student Relationship
Unless MentorOn1 expressly states that it is itself providing a specific tutoring service, the tutoring relationship is formed directly between:
- the Tutor; and
- the Student and/or the Student's responsible Parent/Guardian.
The parties are responsible for agreeing on matters such as:
- subject;
- syllabus;
- location;
- mode;
- lesson length;
- schedule;
- Tutor Fee;
- payment timing;
- cancellation rules;
- materials;
- expectations;
- supervision;
- and continuation or termination.
MentorOn1 may facilitate or record these matters without becoming the provider of the tutoring itself.
28. Independent Tutor Status
Tutors are independent service providers.
Except where expressly agreed in a separate written arrangement, Tutors are not:
- employees of MentorOn1;
- workers of MentorOn1;
- agents authorised to bind MentorOn1;
- franchisees;
- partners;
- joint venturers;
- representatives;
- or fiduciaries of MentorOn1.
Tutors determine and remain responsible for their own tutoring conduct, subject to Platform rules.
MentorOn1 may establish publication standards, safety standards, content standards, and Platform rules without creating an employment relationship.
A Tutor may not make commitments on behalf of MentorOn1 unless specifically authorised in writing.
29. In-Person Tutoring and Personal Safety
In-person tutoring involves risks that a digital platform cannot eliminate.
Students, Parents, Guardians, and Tutors must exercise independent judgment.
For in-person tutoring, users should consider:
- meeting in a safe and appropriate location;
- Parent/Guardian awareness where a minor is involved;
- not sharing unnecessary sensitive information;
- verifying the identity of the person being met;
- keeping emergency contact information available;
- avoiding unsafe travel arrangements;
- and discontinuing an interaction if something feels unsafe.
MentorOn1 does not provide security personnel, physical supervision, transport, premises inspection, police verification, or continuous monitoring unless expressly stated for a specific arrangement.
MentorOn1's verification process is not a substitute for personal safety precautions.
30. Online Tutoring and Technology Risks
For online tutoring, the parties are responsible for:
- internet connectivity;
- device compatibility;
- video/audio tools;
- account security;
- appropriate online conduct;
- and compliance with third-party platform rules.
MentorOn1 is not responsible for failures of third-party video-conferencing, messaging, internet, device, power, or software services.
Users must not record tutoring sessions without obtaining all consent required by law.
Users must not expose minors to inappropriate online environments.
31. Students Who Are Minors During Tutoring
Where a Student is under 18:
- the Parent/Guardian should know who the Tutor is;
- the Parent/Guardian should approve the arrangement;
- payment terms should be approved by an Adult;
- in-person location and supervision should be appropriate;
- one-to-one communications should remain educational and appropriate;
- Tutors must not seek secrecy from the Parent/Guardian;
- Tutors must not engage in sexual, exploitative, coercive, or otherwise inappropriate conduct;
- and safety concerns should be reported promptly.
MentorOn1 may remove a Tutor or restrict an Account immediately where a child-safety concern appears credible.
MentorOn1 may also preserve and disclose relevant information where required or permitted by law.
32. Tutor Fees and Tutor-Quoted Pricing
Tutor Fees may be:
- fixed by a Tutor;
- displayed as a starting fee;
- dependent on Subject, Grade, mode, location, frequency, or other factors;
- negotiated;
- custom;
- or otherwise agreed directly between the Tutor and Student/Parent.
A displayed Tutor Fee may be indicative rather than a final quote unless clearly stated otherwise.
Users should confirm the final Tutor Fee before lessons begin.
MentorOn1 is not responsible for a Tutor increasing, reducing, or negotiating their Tutor Fee outside the Platform, except where the Platform expressly guarantees a specific price.
33. MentorOn1 Fees and Current Commercial Model
At the Effective Date, MentorOn1 does not generally charge the Student or Tutor simply because an Order or Invoice record exists.
Current Orders/Invoices may primarily serve as:
- engagement records;
- administrative records;
- documentation of an agreed tuition arrangement;
- billing references;
- or records of the initial MentorOn1-facilitated relationship.
Unless an Invoice or checkout flow expressly identifies MentorOn1 as the recipient/payee of a particular amount, the presence of a MentorOn1 Invoice does not mean that:
- MentorOn1 collected the Tutor Fee;
- MentorOn1 holds the money;
- MentorOn1 owes settlement to the Tutor;
- or MentorOn1 guarantees payment.
MentorOn1 may later introduce a for-profit or revenue model as described in Section 36.
34. Orders, Engagement Records, and Invoices
MentorOn1 may create an Order or Invoice after:
- an Inquiry;
- an Appointment;
- Tutor selection;
- a Match;
- staff finalisation;
- or another confirmed engagement step.
An Order or Invoice may include:
- Tutor;
- Student/Parent;
- subject;
- billing period;
- start date;
- duration;
- Tutor Fee;
- engagement status;
- notes;
- and other relevant terms.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
- the Invoice is a record, not proof of payment;
- the Tutor and Student/Parent remain responsible for actual payment handling;
- MentorOn1 does not guarantee collection;
- MentorOn1 does not guarantee a refund of money it never received;
- MentorOn1 does not become a trustee, escrow agent, payment institution, or bank merely by issuing the record.
Users must not alter or falsify an Order or Invoice.
35. One-Year Engagement Record and Later Direct Dealings
MentorOn1 may record the initial Tutor–Student engagement for a period such as one year, or for another period shown in the applicable Order/Invoice.
After that period, where:
- the Tutor and Student already know one another;
- MentorOn1 does not continue to provide a paid intermediary service;
- no new Match or re-engagement has been created; and
- no separate ongoing platform fee applies,
their later direct tutoring relationship may continue without a new MentorOn1 Order or Invoice.
This does not mean MentorOn1 remains responsible for later:
- lessons;
- payments;
- conduct;
- disputes;
- scheduling;
- cancellations;
- academic results;
- or other direct dealings.
If the parties later use MentorOn1 to re-match, form a new Engagement, access a paid feature, or otherwise re-enter a Platform workflow, then the current terms shown for that workflow may apply.
36. Future Paid or For-Profit Features
MentorOn1 may later introduce revenue-generating features, including potentially:
- Student/Parent platform fees;
- Tutor fees;
- matching fees;
- service fees;
- subscription fees;
- listing fees;
- promoted-placement fees;
- appointment fees;
- transaction fees;
- commissions;
- premium features;
- advertising;
- or other monetisation models.
However:
- no new fee is owed merely because MentorOn1 reserves the right to introduce fees;
- material fees must be disclosed before they become applicable to the relevant transaction or service;
- new fees will not be imposed retroactively on completed free/record-only engagements unless the user separately agrees;
- where a user must accept additional paid-service terms, those terms will be presented at or before purchase/use;
- MentorOn1 may make continued use of a newly paid feature conditional on accepting the applicable pricing.
MentorOn1 may set its own platform/service fee even where the Tutor separately negotiates the Tutor Fee.
37. Taxes and Statutory Charges
Each party is responsible for taxes, registrations, invoices, records, and statutory obligations legally applicable to them.
A Tutor is responsible for determining whether their tutoring income gives rise to:
- income-tax obligations;
- GST obligations;
- business-registration obligations;
- invoice obligations;
- or other compliance requirements.
MentorOn1 is responsible only for taxes and statutory obligations legally applicable to MentorOn1 itself.
Where law requires MentorOn1 to collect, deduct, report, or remit a tax, fee, levy, or withholding amount, MentorOn1 may do so.
38. Refunds
38.1 Current model
Where MentorOn1 has not actually collected money, MentorOn1 cannot refund money paid directly to a Tutor.
38.2 Future paid MentorOn1 services
Unless a specific paid-service rule states otherwise, future fees actually charged by MentorOn1 are intended to be non-refundable once the relevant service is supplied, earned, activated, matched, booked, or otherwise consumed, except where:
- applicable law requires a refund;
- MentorOn1 expressly promises a refund;
- MentorOn1 makes a billing error;
- the paid service is not supplied due solely to MentorOn1;
- or another stated exception applies.
38.3 Tutor refunds
A refund of a Tutor Fee paid directly to a Tutor is a matter between the Tutor and Student/Parent unless MentorOn1 expressly administered that payment.
MentorOn1 may assist in communication without accepting financial liability.
39. Payment Disputes Between Tutors and Students
If a dispute arises regarding:
- whether a lesson occurred;
- Tutor quality;
- attendance;
- Tutor Fee;
- late payment;
- cancellation;
- refund;
- materials;
- or another Tutor–Student issue,
MentorOn1 may choose to:
- receive a complaint;
- review platform records;
- request evidence;
- mediate;
- recommend a resolution;
- restrict an Account;
- or take Platform-level action.
MentorOn1 is not required to adjudicate the underlying private contract and does not automatically become liable for the disputed amount.
A Platform moderation decision does not necessarily decide who would prevail in a court or statutory proceeding.
40. Anti-Circumvention and Fee Avoidance
40.1 Current record-only model
Where no MentorOn1 fee, commission, or paid-introduction condition was disclosed and applicable, users do not owe a hidden anti-circumvention fee merely because they met through MentorOn1.
40.2 Future paid model
If MentorOn1 later introduces a fee or commission tied to:
- introductions;
- matching;
- engagements;
- bookings;
- renewals;
- or other qualifying transactions,
and that fee was clearly disclosed and accepted before the relevant introduction or transaction, users must not deliberately bypass MentorOn1 for the principal purpose of avoiding a legitimately owed MentorOn1 fee.
Prohibited avoidance may include:
- falsely cancelling a Platform engagement while continuing it privately;
- misrepresenting transaction value;
- instructing another user to conceal the relationship;
- creating alternate Accounts to evade a fee;
- or intentionally moving a chargeable transaction off-platform solely to defeat an agreed fee.
40.3 Proportionality
This clause:
- does not create a perpetual non-compete;
- does not prohibit ordinary direct relationships where no fee applies;
- does not retroactively convert today's record-only model into a commission model;
- and does not prevent users from exercising rights that cannot lawfully be restricted.
Any future fee-avoidance remedy will be limited to amounts legitimately owed and other remedies permitted by law.
41. Reviews, Ratings, Testimonials, and Results
MentorOn1 may permit users to submit:
- ratings;
- written Reviews;
- testimonials;
- result statements;
- experience descriptions;
- and other feedback.
MentorOn1 may also publish testimonials manually with permission.
Reviews must reflect genuine experience.
Users must not submit:
- fake Reviews;
- paid undisclosed Reviews;
- defamatory claims;
- threats;
- private contact information;
- sexual content;
- irrelevant abuse;
- fabricated results;
- impersonated feedback;
- or Reviews intended primarily to extort or manipulate.
MentorOn1 may moderate Reviews.
Publication of a Review does not mean MentorOn1 adopts or independently verifies every statement in it.
Where a testimonial was incentivised, sponsored, selectively solicited, or otherwise requires disclosure by law, MentorOn1 may add an appropriate disclosure.
42. User-Generated Content
Users retain ownership of Content they lawfully own, subject to the licence granted below.
Users are responsible for ensuring they have the right to submit Content.
A Tutor uploading a profile photo represents that they have the right to use it.
A user submitting another person's result, image, name, quotation, or testimonial must have appropriate permission where required.
Users must not upload:
- copyrighted material they cannot lawfully use;
- confidential documents they have no right to disclose;
- another person's private identity documents;
- non-consensual images;
- harmful files;
- malware;
- or unlawful content.
43. Licence Granted to MentorOn1
By submitting Content to MentorOn1, you grant MentorOn1 a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable to service providers, and transferable in connection with a permitted business transfer, licence to:
- host;
- store;
- reproduce;
- format;
- resize;
- adapt for technical display;
- publish where intended;
- display;
- distribute through MentorOn1;
- create thumbnails;
- moderate;
- back up;
- and otherwise use the Content as reasonably necessary to operate, secure, promote, and improve the Platform.
This licence is limited by:
- the nature of the feature;
- your privacy settings where applicable;
- the Privacy Policy;
- applicable law;
- and any specific permission associated with the Content.
MentorOn1 does not gain ownership of your underlying intellectual property merely because you upload it.
For public Tutor profiles, Reviews, and testimonials, the licence continues for as long as reasonably necessary to maintain lawful records, backups, dispute evidence, or historical publications, subject to deletion rights under applicable law.
44. Content Standards
Content must not be:
- knowingly false;
- fraudulent;
- defamatory;
- obscene;
- sexually exploitative;
- threatening;
- hateful;
- discriminatory in an unlawful manner;
- invasive of privacy;
- infringing;
- dangerous;
- deceptive;
- spam;
- malware;
- or otherwise unlawful.
Education-related criticism may be allowed where it is genuine, relevant, and expressed without unlawful abuse.
MentorOn1 may remove Content that violates these standards or creates disproportionate legal or safety risk.
45. Intellectual Property and Platform Rights
Except for user-owned Content and third-party materials, MentorOn1 owns or lawfully uses the Platform's:
- software;
- code;
- database structure;
- interfaces;
- design;
- branding;
- logos;
- layout;
- text created by MentorOn1;
- matching-system implementation;
- ranking logic;
- original graphics;
- documentation;
- and other proprietary material.
These Terms do not transfer ownership to users.
Users receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use MentorOn1 for its intended purpose.
46. Feedback and Suggestions
If you voluntarily provide ideas, suggestions, feature requests, error reports, or other feedback about MentorOn1, you permit MentorOn1 to use that feedback without payment or obligation to implement it.
This does not give MentorOn1 ownership of unrelated confidential material you clearly identify and lawfully provide under a separate confidentiality obligation.
47. Acceptable Use Rules
Users may use MentorOn1 only for lawful, genuine, education-related or Platform-supported purposes.
You must:
- interact respectfully;
- use accurate information;
- follow role permissions;
- protect minors;
- respect privacy;
- honour payment obligations actually agreed;
- comply with safety rules;
- use legitimate communication channels;
- and cooperate with reasonable Platform investigations.
48. Prohibited Conduct
You must not:
- use MentorOn1 for fraud;
- impersonate another person;
- create fake Tutor profiles;
- falsify qualifications;
- exploit or groom minors;
- harass users;
- threaten violence;
- share sexual or exploitative content;
- distribute malware;
- attack the Platform;
- bypass access controls;
- probe private APIs without authorisation;
- obtain another user's private data;
- alter another user's Invoice or Order;
- self-publish a Tutor profile through technical manipulation;
- self-verify an Account or credential through unauthorised means;
- manipulate ratings or Reviews;
- spam inquiries;
- use bots to create Accounts;
- abuse OTP systems;
- resell access to the Platform;
- harvest emails, phone numbers, or Tutor data;
- scrape the Platform at scale;
- reverse engineer protected components except where law expressly permits;
- use MentorOn1 to facilitate unlawful discrimination;
- use the service for criminal activity;
- knowingly submit unlawful personal data;
- attempt to evade a valid suspension;
- intentionally defeat a future legitimately agreed Platform fee;
- or encourage another person to do any of the above.
49. Scraping, Automation, Reverse Engineering, and Data Harvesting
Without MentorOn1's written permission, you must not use automated means to:
- scrape Tutor profiles;
- copy the Tutor directory at scale;
- harvest contact details;
- replicate the matching service;
- create a competing database from MentorOn1 data;
- overload search endpoints;
- bypass rate limits;
- or systematically extract protected Platform content.
General-purpose search-engine indexing expressly permitted by MentorOn1's robots/SEO configuration is not prohibited by this section.
Security research must be conducted responsibly and within applicable law.
50. Fraud, Impersonation, Misrepresentation, and Account Abuse
MentorOn1 may investigate suspicious conduct.
Risk signals may include:
- inconsistent identity information;
- duplicate Accounts;
- impossible qualifications;
- repeated charge disputes;
- forged screenshots;
- manipulated documents;
- unusual OTP activity;
- unauthorised Parent–Ward claims;
- fake Reviews;
- mass contact attempts;
- or suspicious platform-circumvention behaviour.
MentorOn1 may request reasonable evidence.
Refusal to cooperate may result in restriction where the request is proportionate to a legitimate risk.
51. Platform Investigations and Cooperation
MentorOn1 may review Platform records relating to a complaint or suspected violation.
This may include, where lawful:
- Account records;
- profile history;
- consent records;
- Match records;
- Inquiry records;
- Appointment history;
- Invoice/Order records;
- audit logs;
- security logs;
- Reviews;
- and communications submitted through MentorOn1.
MentorOn1 may preserve relevant records during an active dispute, safety investigation, fraud investigation, or legal hold even if a deletion request is made, to the extent permitted by law.
52. Moderation and Removal of Content
MentorOn1 may:
- edit formatting;
- add warnings;
- limit visibility;
- remove Content;
- disable a Review;
- hide personal information accidentally published;
- unpublish a Tutor;
- or preserve a private moderation copy
where reasonably necessary for:
- safety;
- privacy;
- legal compliance;
- platform integrity;
- quality;
- anti-fraud;
- or these Terms.
MentorOn1 is not required to pre-screen every piece of user Content.
53. Suspension, Restriction, Deactivation, and Termination
MentorOn1 may suspend, restrict, deactivate, or terminate an Account or feature access for reasons including:
- fraud;
- abuse;
- safety concerns;
- child-safety concerns;
- harassment;
- misrepresentation;
- non-payment of a legitimately applicable fee;
- circumvention;
- impersonation;
- unlawful conduct;
- repeated complaints;
- security risk;
- policy violations;
- platform manipulation;
- credential falsification;
- or legal necessity.
Where appropriate, MentorOn1 may use graduated measures such as:
- warning;
- temporary restriction;
- feature restriction;
- Tutor unpublication;
- review removal;
- temporary suspension;
- permanent termination.
For urgent safety, fraud, or security cases, MentorOn1 may act without advance notice.
Where reasonable and legally appropriate, MentorOn1 may provide a reason or review mechanism.
54. Account Deletion and Effect of Closure
Users may request Account deletion using available Account controls or support channels.
Deletion may result in:
- loss of dashboard access;
- removal of public profile visibility;
- cancellation of active sessions;
- loss of saved Match access;
- inability to recover prior settings;
- and termination of future Platform use.
MentorOn1 may retain or anonymise information where reasonably necessary for:
- legal compliance;
- invoices and financial records;
- fraud prevention;
- security;
- dispute resolution;
- safeguarding;
- legal claims;
- audit integrity;
- consent evidence;
- backup cycles;
- or other lawful purposes.
A Tutor's Account deletion does not automatically erase every historical Invoice, Review, dispute record, or lawful business record.
Further details are governed by the Privacy Policy.
55. Communications and Service Messages
By creating an Account or using a service workflow, you authorise MentorOn1 to send necessary service communications such as:
- OTPs;
- verification emails;
- password-reset messages;
- Match-related messages;
- Inquiry confirmations;
- Appointment updates;
- Invoice/Order notices;
- security alerts;
- support replies;
- policy notices;
- and other operational messages.
These messages are not optional marketing where they are necessary to operate the requested service or protect the Account.
Users must keep their contact information current.
56. Newsletter and Marketing Communications
MentorOn1's marketing/newsletter model is opt-in.
A user will not be treated as having subscribed to optional marketing merely because they created an Account, unless a separate lawful basis and notice applies.
Where a user opts in, MentorOn1 may send:
- educational content;
- Tutor-related updates;
- Platform announcements;
- offers;
- campaigns;
- and other promotional material.
Users may unsubscribe from optional marketing.
Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop necessary service or legal communications.
57. Advertising and Promotional Content
MentorOn1 may currently or later display advertising, sponsorships, promotions, or paid placements.
Where required, commercial content will be identified appropriately.
MentorOn1 may later use personalised or behavioural advertising for eligible users where lawful and consistent with the Privacy Policy and consent requirements.
MentorOn1 will not intentionally direct behavioural advertising to child users or use children's data for tracking/targeted advertising where prohibited by applicable law.
Advertising does not imply MentorOn1 guarantees the advertiser, product, or service.
Users should independently evaluate third-party offers.
58. Artificial Intelligence Features
MentorOn1 may provide an AI-enabled Assistant.
Depending on the current feature configuration, the Assistant may:
- answer general MentorOn1 questions;
- explain Platform features;
- use approved MentorOn1 content;
- use a logged-in user's relevant Account context where permitted;
- use Match-related information where permitted;
- recommend Tutors;
- summarise Platform information;
- or assist with navigation.
AI functionality may be provided through third-party AI infrastructure or models.
The Assistant may change over time.
59. AI-Specific Disclaimers
AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, misleading, or inappropriate.
Users must not treat AI output as:
- legal advice;
- medical advice;
- mental-health advice;
- financial advice;
- psychological diagnosis;
- admissions advice guaranteed to be correct;
- academic-result prediction;
- safeguarding determination;
- emergency assistance;
- or a substitute for professional judgment.
AI Tutor recommendations are not guarantees.
Where the Assistant uses personal or Match information, such use is subject to the Privacy Policy.
MentorOn1 may log, moderate, restrict, or disable AI use where necessary for safety, abuse prevention, quality, or law.
60. Third-Party Services, Links, and Providers
MentorOn1 may rely on third-party providers for functions such as:
- hosting;
- database infrastructure;
- email delivery;
- AI services;
- analytics;
- security;
- maps;
- communications;
- payments if introduced;
- or other infrastructure.
Third-party services may have their own terms.
MentorOn1 does not control independent third-party websites merely because a link appears on MentorOn1.
Users should review third-party terms before providing information or making payments through them.
61. Platform Availability, Errors, and Maintenance
MentorOn1 aims to operate reliably but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
The Platform may be unavailable because of:
- maintenance;
- hosting failure;
- database failure;
- internet outage;
- provider outage;
- cyberattack;
- bug;
- deployment;

- or other technical issue.
MentorOn1 may correct errors in:
- profiles;
- prices;
- Match displays;
- Orders;
- Invoices;
- statistics;
- content;
- or system status.
Where an error materially affects a user, MentorOn1 may take reasonable corrective action.
62. Changes to Features and Service Scope

- remove features;
- redesign features;
- change eligibility;
- change Match logic;
- change Account roles;
- change geographic coverage;
- change publication standards;
- change communication methods;
- change supported tutoring modes;
- or discontinue parts of the service.
If a change materially affects an existing paid contractual entitlement, MentorOn1 will apply any notice, refund, or transition obligation required by applicable law or the specific paid-service terms.
63. Educational and Academic Disclaimers
MentorOn1 does not guarantee:
- grades;
- marks;
- examination ranks;

- college admission;
- Tutor availability;
- successful Match;
- Tutor retention;
- Student motivation;
- or any other educational outcome.
Testimonials, Reviews, prior Student results, Tutor experience, compatibility scores, and success stories are not guarantees of future results.
Educational outcomes depend on many factors outside MentorOn1's control.
64. No Professional Advice
General information on MentorOn1, including blog posts, AI responses, Tutor profiles, Match explanations, and advising content, is not automatically:
- legal advice;
- financial advice;
- medical advice;
- mental-health advice;
- psychological advice;
- tax advice;
- or other regulated professional advice.
Users should consult an appropriately qualified professional where needed.
65. No Employment, Agency, Partnership, or Fiduciary Relationship
Nothing in these Terms creates:
- employment;
- agency;
- partnership;
- joint venture;
- franchise;
- fiduciary duty;
- or trustee relationship
between MentorOn1 and a Tutor, Student, Parent, or other User, unless a separate written agreement expressly creates such a relationship.
MentorOn1's coordination role does not authorise a Tutor to bind MentorOn1.
66. No Guarantee of Identity, Character, Safety, or Performance
Even where MentorOn1 conducts checks, MentorOn1 cannot guarantee that a user:
- is always who they claim to be;
- will behave safely;
- will comply with every promise;
- has disclosed every relevant fact;
- has no criminal or disciplinary history;
- is competent;
- will remain available;
- will pay;
- or will perform satisfactorily.
Users should take reasonable precautions.
MentorOn1 may remove a person after receiving credible concerns, but removal cannot reverse prior interactions.
67. Disputes Between Users
Users should first attempt to resolve Tutor–Student disputes directly and respectfully.
MentorOn1 may facilitate a resolution but is not required to act as a court, arbitrator, debt collector, or professional regulator.
MentorOn1 may take separate Platform action even if the parties privately settle.
Conversely, MentorOn1 may decide not to impose Platform sanctions even if one party demands them, where the available evidence does not justify the action.
68. Complaints, Safety Reports, and Grievances
Users may report:
- Tutor conduct;
- Student conduct;
- Parent conduct;
- payment issues;
- fraud;
- impersonation;
- privacy concerns;

- or other Platform grievances
to:
MentorOn1 may ask for:
- Account email;
- Tutor/Student name;
- relevant dates;
- screenshots;
- Invoice/Order references;
- Appointment details;
- and other evidence.
MentorOn1 will handle grievances in accordance with applicable law and its operational procedures.
Where applicable law requires a formally designated grievance officer or additional public grievance information, MentorOn1 may publish such details separately and those details will form part of the Platform's grievance mechanism.
69. Emergency Situations
MentorOn1 is not an emergency service.
If there is an immediate threat to:
- life;
- physical safety;
- a child;
- or property,
users should contact appropriate emergency services, police, medical services, Parents/Guardians, or local authorities.
Sending a message to MentorOn1 is not a substitute for emergency reporting.
70. Privacy and Data Protection
MentorOn1's processing of personal data is governed by its Privacy Policy and applicable law.
These Terms should be read together with the Privacy Policy.
The Privacy Policy may explain matters including:
- Account data;
- Parent/Ward data;
- Tutor profile data;
- verification information;
- Match answers;
- Inquiry data;
- Appointment data;
- Orders/Invoices;
- Reviews;
- security logs;
- AI interactions;
- cookies;
- communications;
- retention;
- deletion;
- consent;
- children's data;
- advertising;
- and international/cloud processing.
If these Terms and the Privacy Policy conflict specifically about how personal data is handled, the Privacy Policy controls for that data-handling issue, subject to applicable law.
71. Security and Responsible Disclosure
Users must not exploit security vulnerabilities.
If you discover a genuine security issue, report it responsibly to MentorOn1 rather than:
- accessing unnecessary user data;
- publishing credentials;
- damaging the service;
- extorting users;
- or continuing exploitation after confirming the issue.
MentorOn1 may investigate abusive security testing.
Nothing here prohibits lawful good-faith reporting.
72. Confidential and Private Information
Users may receive information about another person through an authorised Platform workflow.
They must not misuse such information.
A Tutor must not:
- sell Student contact details;
- publish Student personal data;
- share a minor's information unnecessarily;
- use Student data for unrelated marketing without lawful basis;
- or retain sensitive information longer than reasonably necessary.
Students and Parents must likewise not misuse private Tutor information.
73. Warranties and Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MentorOn1 is provided on an “as available” and “as is” basis.
MentorOn1 does not make an absolute warranty that:
- every profile is error-free;
- every user is verified;
- every Match is optimal;
- every Tutor is competent;
- every Appointment will occur;
- every message will be delivered;
- the Platform will be uninterrupted;
- every Review is accurate;
- every AI response is correct;
- or every dispute will be resolved.
Nothing in this section excludes a warranty, guarantee, duty, or remedy that applicable law does not permit MentorOn1 to exclude.
74. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MentorOn1 will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, or consequential losses arising from Platform use, including loss of:
- educational opportunity;
- expected grades;
- examination results;
- admissions opportunities;
- profits;
- reputation;
- data;
- time;
- or anticipated savings,
where such exclusion is legally permitted.
MentorOn1 is not responsible for loss caused by:
- a Tutor's independent conduct;
- a Student's independent conduct;
- a Parent's independent conduct;
- an off-platform payment;
- an unauthorised meeting;
- false information supplied by another user;
- failure to follow safety guidance;
- third-party internet or communication services;
- or circumstances outside MentorOn1's reasonable control,
except to the extent MentorOn1 is legally responsible and such responsibility cannot be excluded.
Where monetary liability may lawfully be capped, MentorOn1's aggregate liability arising from the Platform will ordinarily not exceed the greater of:
- the total amount actually paid by the claimant to MentorOn1 for the specific Platform service giving rise to the claim during the preceding 12 months; or
- ₹5,000,
unless a higher amount is required by law.
This cap does not apply where applicable law prohibits limitation, including where relevant to fraud, wilful misconduct, or other non-excludable liability.
75. Liability for Tutor Fees and Off-Platform Payments
MentorOn1 is not liable for money that:
- a Student paid directly to a Tutor;
- a Tutor refunded or failed to refund;
- was transferred to an incorrect bank/UPI account supplied outside MentorOn1;
- was paid in cash;
- was paid through an unauthorised third party;
- or was otherwise never received by MentorOn1.
A MentorOn1 Invoice naming a Tutor Fee does not make MentorOn1 the recipient of that Tutor Fee unless the Invoice/payment flow expressly states that MentorOn1 is collecting it.
Users should retain payment evidence for private Tutor payments.
76. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by applicable law, a User who causes MentorOn1 loss through their own unlawful or materially wrongful conduct agrees to indemnify MentorOn1 against reasonable third-party claims, losses, liabilities, and costs arising from:
- fraudulent identity;
- knowingly false qualifications;
- infringement of third-party intellectual property;
- unlawful Content;
- misuse of another person's personal data;
- unauthorised Parent/Ward claims;
- deliberate security attacks;
- exploitation or abuse of a minor;
- deliberate fee-evasion where a valid fee was agreed;
- or material violation of these Terms.
This indemnity is not intended to:
- shift MentorOn1's own legal responsibility to a consumer;
- require a consumer to indemnify MentorOn1 for MentorOn1's own negligence where such a clause would be unlawful;
- or waive any non-waivable statutory right.
77. Consumer Rights and Non-Waivable Rights
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or reduce rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Where a Student, Parent, or other User qualifies as a “consumer” under applicable law, they retain the rights available to them.
Any clause that would otherwise conflict with a mandatory consumer-protection rule will be interpreted as narrowly as necessary to remain lawful.
A user may have rights regarding:
- misleading representations;
- unfair trade practices;
- unfair contract terms;
- deficient services;
- statutory grievance mechanisms;
- consumer commissions;
- or other remedies.
These Terms are not intended to prevent lawful access to such remedies.
78. Force Majeure
MentorOn1 is not responsible for delay or failure caused by events beyond its reasonable control, including:

- or other force-majeure event.
MentorOn1 will make reasonable efforts to restore affected services where practical.
79. Electronic Records and Electronic Acceptance
Users agree that contracts, notices, consent records, Account actions, Orders, Invoices, OTP confirmations, and other records may be created and stored electronically where permitted by law.
Electronic acceptance may include:
- ticking a checkbox;
- clicking an acceptance button;
- completing signup after notice;
- confirming an Order;
- using a paid feature after pricing disclosure;
- or another valid electronic action.
MentorOn1 may keep records of:
- policy version;
- acceptance time;
- Account ID;
- and related evidence.
80. Notices
MentorOn1 may provide notices through:
- email;
- Account dashboard;
- banner;
- modal;
- website notice;
- Invoice;
- or another reasonable electronic method.
Users are responsible for keeping their Account email usable.
A notice relating to a material legal change may require fresh acceptance where appropriate.
81. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India.
Where state-specific law is relevant, the laws applicable in West Bengal may apply.
Conflict-of-law principles will apply only to the extent required by law.
82. Good-Faith Resolution Before Formal Proceedings
Before commencing private arbitration or ordinary civil proceedings relating solely to these Terms, the parties should ordinarily attempt good-faith resolution.
A claimant should send a written notice describing:
- the issue;
- relevant dates;
- requested remedy;
- and supporting information
to:
MentorOn1 and the claimant should make a reasonable attempt to resolve the matter informally.
This section does not require a person to delay:
- emergency relief;
- limitation-sensitive action;
- a legally protected consumer complaint;
- a criminal complaint;
- a child-safety report;
- or another remedy where delay would prejudice statutory rights.
83. Arbitration
Subject to Section 77 and the preservation of non-waivable statutory rights, disputes not resolved informally may be referred to arbitration where a valid arbitration agreement exists.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
- the arbitration will be governed by the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, as amended;
- there will be a sole arbitrator;
- the parties should first attempt to mutually agree on the arbitrator;
- the seat and legal place of arbitration will be Bankura, West Bengal, India;
- proceedings may be conducted physically, virtually, or in a hybrid format as permitted;
- the language will ordinarily be English unless the parties agree otherwise;
- the arbitrator may allocate costs as permitted by law;
- and the award will be binding subject to statutory challenge rights.
Nothing in this Section is intended to prevent a consumer from approaching a consumer forum or other statutory authority where the law preserves that right.
84. Courts and Statutory Forums
Subject to:
- valid arbitration;
- applicable consumer law;
- and any mandatory jurisdiction rule,
courts having jurisdiction in Bankura, West Bengal, India will have jurisdiction over court proceedings connected with these Terms.
This clause does not deprive a consumer of a forum or jurisdiction that cannot lawfully be excluded.
85. Time Limits and Preservation of Mandatory Rights
A User should raise complaints promptly so evidence can be preserved.
However, these Terms do not shorten a statutory limitation period where such shortening would be unlawful or unenforceable.
MentorOn1 may impose reasonable operational deadlines for:
- internal review;
- cancellation;
- evidence submission;
- or feature-specific disputes
where clearly disclosed and lawful.
86. Changes to These Terms
MentorOn1 may update these Terms.
Changes may be made because of:
- new features;
- monetisation;
- legal changes;
- safety requirements;
- security requirements;
- geographic expansion;
- provider changes;
- or operational changes.
For minor or non-material changes, MentorOn1 may update the “Last Updated” date and publish the revised Terms.
For material changes affecting user rights or payment obligations, MentorOn1 may provide additional notice and, where appropriate, require fresh acceptance.
A future Terms update cannot retroactively create a fee for a transaction completed before that fee was disclosed and applicable.
87. Additional Terms for Specific Features
A specific feature may have additional terms, such as:
- paid-service terms;
- cancellation terms;
- Tutor promotion terms;
- subscription terms;
- payment-processor terms;
- contest terms;
- referral terms;
- or AI-specific terms.
Where additional terms conflict with these Terms, the more specific additional terms control for that feature, unless prohibited by law.
The Privacy Policy separately controls specific personal-data processing issues.
88. Assignment
Users may not transfer their Account or contractual rights under these Terms to another person without MentorOn1's consent where such transfer would create security, identity, or operational risk.
MentorOn1 may assign or transfer its rights and obligations to:
- a successor operator;
- a registered entity formed to operate MentorOn1;
- an affiliate;
- or an acquirer of substantially all relevant business/assets,
provided user rights are not reduced contrary to applicable law.
89. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective to the extent legally possible.
An invalid provision should be interpreted or narrowed, where lawful, to best preserve its legitimate purpose without violating mandatory law.
90. Waiver
Failure by MentorOn1 to enforce a provision in one case does not permanently waive the right to enforce it later.
A waiver must be clear and applies only to the specific matter waived.
91. Entire Agreement
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and any applicable feature-specific terms form the agreement governing Platform use.
They supersede prior informal descriptions of Platform rules to the extent of an actual conflict.
A separate signed written agreement may override these Terms for the specific subject matter it governs.
92. Interpretation
Headings are for convenience.
Words such as “including” mean “including without limitation” unless context clearly requires otherwise.
References to a law include amendments, replacements, subordinate rules, and legally applicable successor provisions.
Where a clause can reasonably be interpreted in a lawful or unlawful manner, it should be interpreted in the lawful manner.
Where consumer law requires a User-favourable interpretation, that mandatory rule prevails.
93. Survival
Provisions that by their nature should continue after Account closure remain in effect, including provisions concerning:
- intellectual property;
- lawful record retention;
- past fees;
- disputes;
- limitation of liability;
- indemnity;
- fraud;
- safety;
- governing law;
- arbitration where valid;
- and prior Content licences to the extent lawfully necessary.

96. Annex B — Current Billing and Future Monetisation Framework
B.1 Current position
As of the Effective Date:
- MentorOn1 may generate Orders and Invoices;
- those records may document a Tutor–Student arrangement;
- Tutor and Student/Parent may handle actual payment themselves;
- MentorOn1 does not automatically collect the Tutor Fee;
- issuance of an Invoice does not prove receipt by MentorOn1;

B.2 Tutor pricing
Tutor pricing may be:
- fixed;
- “starting from”;
- negotiated;
- customised;
- or variable based on tutoring circumstances.
B.3 Platform pricing
If MentorOn1 later charges a Platform fee, MentorOn1 may set that fee independently from the Tutor Fee.
B.4 No retroactive monetisation
A later pricing model will not retroactively impose:
- commission;
- subscription;
- listing fee;
- introduction fee;
- or transaction fee
on an engagement that was completed when no such fee was disclosed and applicable.
B.5 Future non-refundable model
Where MentorOn1 later charges a fee, the default commercial intention is that earned/consumed MentorOn1 fees will be non-refundable except where:
- law requires otherwise;
- the paid feature states otherwise;
- MentorOn1 makes a billing error;
- or MentorOn1 expressly authorises a refund.
B.6 Anti-circumvention starts only when applicable
Future anti-circumvention obligations attach only where:
- the relevant fee model exists;
- the relevant user was given clear notice;
- the relevant introduction/transaction falls within that fee model; and
- the fee is legally enforceable.
